In its current form, TheHackLabs is virtually finished, the search engine itself is now fully formed with our technology lookup tool working great!
Work on the site has been more to improve the user experience over building out more features, we have closely integrated with social media so they are now automatically updated when we post something new, meaning that if you follow us on our socials you can be the first to know any hacking news or guides! There is a slight bug with facebook and how it grabs content right now, which we are looking into.
We have also worked on minifying rendered code, caching with preload and integrating an image CDN – this helps to massively improve the loading times of the site and allow more people to use it at once without a hitch, CloudFlare is the next step which will help with globl load times. we will be writing an article on how you too can speed up your site over the coming weeks.
I also updated my profile picture to one that wasn’t from over 6 years ago, less of an update and more something that might help with project authenticity since I look less like a child in my newer picture.
Overall, work done on the site now is mostly just updating stuff in the backend, improving the user experience and of course writing content, we would still love if you got in touch with any bug reports or general feedback to help improve our project!
